EB-flute is a double-flute corrugated board consisting of a combination of E-flute and B-flute. Like all corrugated board, it is constructed from smooth face sheets (liners) and corrugated paper layers – in the case of EB-flute, there are typically two flute layers with an intermediate layer in between (making a total of three face/intermediate layers).
The B-flute, as the ‘stronger’ inner flute, provides stability (typically h 2.2–3.1 mm, t 4.8–6.5 mm), whilst the E-flute, as the finer outer flute, offers a smoother surface and thus better printability (typically h 1.0–1.9 mm, t 2.6–3.5 mm). In practice, the total thickness of EB double-wall corrugated board is often roughly 4.5 mm (depending on paper grades/manufacturer).

What is the EB flute suitable for?
EB corrugated board is a very popular choice when packaging requires high stability but also needs to be easy to print on. Typical applications include shipping boxes and product packaging for heavier goods where protection and presentation go hand in hand (e.g. bottle packs).
In our range, EB flute is often described as suitable for loads of up to approx. 32 kg with even weight distribution – particularly as an ‘upgrade’ from single-wall grades when greater load-bearing capacity or stackability is required.
